Awaken to Oneness

It is said that if you take one step toward God, God will take a hundred steps toward you.

We reach out to God through prayers and prayer wheels, hymns and chants, candles and fire ceremonies, rituals and rites of every faith and tradition. Yet we do not feel the Divine Presence in our lives.

We feel alone and separate.

Throught the Oneness Blessing, the Divine reaches out to humankind to dissolve the illusion of separateness.

It is a gift of grace to make us aware that we and the Divine are inseparable.

What is the Oneness Blessing?

"Oneness is a force in consciousness that transcends all religions, all cultural, class-based and national barriers, thus unifying people in the experience of one divinity, one humanity, one suffering, one love, and one consciousness. We have a destiny to create a state of consciousness that is Oneness with All That Is."  ~ Sri Bhagavan

The phenomenon of the Blessing comes from Sri Amma Bhagavan, founders of the Oneness University in India. There it is known as 'deeksha', a sanskrit word meaning initiation or benediction.

How is the Oneness Blessing given?

Generally, the Blessing Giver places his/her hands on the recipient's head for thirty seconds to a few minutes. During this time, there is a transfer of grace, or divine intelligent energy, to the recipient.

The Blessing can be given without physical touch through the power of intention, making it possible to give the blessing to large groups and over great distances.

Who can receive the Oneness Blessing?

Anyone of any age may receive the Oneness Blessing.

Who can give the Oneness Blessing?

Only Oneness Blessing Givers who are trained, initiated and certified by the Oneness University may give the Blessing. The foremost requisite for the blessing giver is the realization that he/she is only a vehicle through which the divine presence is flowing. You may find a list of certified Blessing Givers at: worldonesscommunity.com.

Is Oneness a religion?

No. The Oneness Movement has no independent dogmas, teachings, codes of conduct, or practices. The Blessing is enjoyed by people of all spiritual practices - Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, indigenous faiths, and agnostics. No one need change religious practices to receive or give the Blessing. The Blessing can transform faith into reality through personal experience.

How does the Blessing benefit us?

  • Improves our relationships
  • Better health
  • Reduces stress
  • Greater creativity
  • Acceptance of ourselves and others
  • Inner peace
  • Abundance
  • Clearing of emotional charges
  • More...

What will I experience during a Oneness Blessing?

Experiences vary from person to person, and from one Blessing to another for the same person. It can be strong or subtle. Some recipients report feeling joy or bliss they have never experienced before. Others find the blessing releases feelings that bring tears and temporary discomfort. Some people experience nothing at all, but realize days or weeks later that subtle changes have occurred in the way they experience life. No matter what you experience during the Blessing, the Blessing initiates a process that ultimately , over time, leads to a profound and direct awakening into Oneness.

What does it mean to "awaken into Oneness"?

When you awaken into Oneness, there is an end to the sense of separation that is the root cause of all suffering. You realize there is only one body, one Mind, one Consciousness. This new experience of Reality allows us to discover new ways of living, loving and creating a better planet for the present and the future. This is our shared destiny.

When you awaken into Oneness, there is an acceptance of All That Is. Everything in life is experienced fully - the joys and happiness we have come to enjoy, as well as the sorrows, fears and pains that are an inevitable part of life. In that awakened state, everything that is experienced fully is bliss.

** Note from Gina: the words you have read above are taken directly from the brochure used by Blessing Givers in the Philadelphia area. I have copied them here, so as not to have to reinvent the wheel in order to describe what Oneness Blessing is.

I have written my own thoughts and experiences here, and here, if you prefer my own words.
